New Guidelines Implemented to Make Textbooks More Affordable for Students

Federal and state laws require institutions of higher learning to find ways and means to address the escalating cost of textbooks and instructional material.

By submitting an adoption, I affirm that I have read and understand the Montgomery College Instructional Materials Affordability Guidelines related to both the Maryland College Textbook Competition and Affordability Act of 2009 (summary by Maryland Association of Community Colleges, text of Senate Bill 183) and the Higher Education Opportunity Act of 2008.

Before submitting an adoption for a different textbook or a new edition, please acknowledge in the "Message to Bookstore" field the following information:

• the difference in substantial content between the two editions as reported by the publisher
• that the use of the current edition is appropriate due to a material change in substantial content
• the difference in new price between the current and previous editions
